Born into Mirecourt a violin making town. His instruments are played throughout the world. His best work comes from the time of 1875-1910, some think that his varnish tends to be slightly dull and has a yellow-brown color. They almost always have the black outline along the edges of the scroll especially in the Stradivarius model violins. The tone is brilliant and powerful. This violin has a fine one-piece maple back.
